Awaken curiosity. Nurture faith. Inspire learning.

Sep 10, 2019

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year here at Trinity! We are thoroughly excited for all the amazing things that God has planned for each one of your children and for our Trinity community.

I recently had the opportunity to share our new mission statement to all the students, staff, and parents who were in attendance. It states that “Trinity exists to awaken curiosity, nurture faith, and inspire learners to reflect Jesus everywhere,”

What does it mean to awaken curiosity, nurture faith, and reflect Jesus everywhere?

As a visual learner, I often look for images that best capture the central idea. When we awaken curiosity, there is a direct impact on the student’s mind. This means a focus on challenging the students academically and developing a renewed mind in Christ. It also means directing their focus on something new and exciting.

When we nurture faith, there is a direct impact on the heart. It also brings up the image of a plant that needs the proper soil, seeds, water, and light to grow. We create the right conditions for growth, but ultimately rely on God to foster the growth that impacts their hearts.

With our mind and heart aligned, this should cause us to produce fruit. This will lead us to reflect Jesus everywhere through a life of service. We should become Jesus’ hands and feet to serve others in our Trinity community, as well as the larger context of Burlington and beyond.

Throughout this school year, we will be showcasing the various ways that our students and staff are living out this mission daily.

On a separate note, I would like to encourage each parent to join us next Thursday, September 12 at 6 pm. We will begin our time together in the gym. I would like to take this opportunity to share some of our Strategic Plan with you at the beginning. From there, you will be able to meet your children’s teachers and find out more about what they will be learning and how best to support them.

We are looking forward to connecting with you and growing our partnership with each family within the Trinity community throughout this school year.

Sincerely,
J-D Lussier, Principal
