Alumni

Feb 21, 2025

Dear Parents,

As you may have heard, we are celebrating our 60th anniversary and our Gala event is coming up soon! As part of the lead up, we will be highlighting stories of various alumni in order to understand how their time at Trinity shaped who they are and how it is continuing to impact their lives today. We are in the process of putting together a special video in conjunction with the 60th and will be providing excerpts as part of our Newsletters.

This week’s Alumni feature is on Jonathan Wellum. He is currently the CEO and president of ROC Link Investment Partners, an investment management firm based in Burlington, Ontario that serves over 40 families.

Jonathan attended Trinity Christian School starting in 1971 through 1975. His parents pulled both he and his siblings out of the public school ahead of his grade 5 year.

Trinity has changed dramatically since he first attended on Walkers Line where there were only four classrooms at the time and no gym. This is very different from our beautiful building that we occupy now.

When asked what he remembers about Trinity, Jonathan says “ I think of all sorts of wonderful memories, which include Hot Dog Day, legendary Bazaars of people coming together and selling all sorts of interesting goods to help raise money for the school, and fantastic teachers.

As he reflected about the impact of his education at Trinity, Jonathan says “I think that’s really powerful when you have the education fitting with the home life and also with my church. We put those three together and it really helps to build that Christian worldview and gives you a sense again, of the importance of Christianity, the truthfulness of it, and the authority of God’s Word, and how that should apply to all areas of life.”

After graduating from Trinity, Jonathan attended a public High School, but felt grounded in his faith. He also said that the academic credentials here (at Trinity) are excellent and prepared to do four university degrees.

Later, Jonathan and his wife were privileged to have four children with his three older children Attending Trinity from grade one right through grade eight. They felt greatly blessed by the education and the instruction they gleaned from Trinity Christian School is, substantially better than the public school education.

In conclusion, Jonathan thinks the future of Trinity Christian School will be exceptionally bright, providing that we stay consistent with God’s Word. He adds that “my encouragement is to stay true to the gospel of Jesus Christ and to the authority of Christ, his lordship, and to the authority of scriptures.”

Blessings,

J-D Lussier, Principal
