Do Something!

Mar 29, 2019

Dear Parents,

Last October, while attending the Edvance Educators’ Convention, we were presented with the idea of having all of our students “Do Something” to help make our communities, and this world a better place for Christ’s glory. The keynote speaker, Jim McKenzie, shared a few projects that his students had done to accomplish this in his own school.

This led us to consider how we could incorporate a similar concept at Trinity. We immediately felt that there was a direct connection with our Celebration of Learning, which has taken place for a number of years at the school. The goal has been to showcase our students’ learning in ways that may differ from the regular academic curriculum. It is also about having our students make a deeper connection with their learning and demonstrate it in a more practical way.

Our desire is for each student to leave Trinity not only having a strong academic foundation, but to be equipped to go into the world to make a positive difference. We want creativity and service to be key elements of their education. As a result, we decided to challenge all of our students to “Do Something”, which has resulted in a variety of amazing ideas. They have prepared projects and are ready to showcase their learning. We will be sharing additional details in the upcoming weeks.

We hope that you will join us on Thursday, May 2, for a special evening featuring our students. We also ask that you share this information with grandparents and grandfriends, so that they can celebrate with us on May 3. This is an event you do not want to miss, as we come together to support each student’s contributions to our community.

Sincerely,
J-D Lussier, Principal
