God of Wonders

Jun 10, 2021

Dear Parents,

Isn’t it great to pause and think about how wonderful God is and how He inspires “awe” in us? This morning during chapel, this is exactly what we did. Since “Awakening Curiosity” is one of the main themes at the school, our grade 2 class explored the concept of, “Wonder” throughout the school year, both in the sense of “Wow!, Amazing!”, and in the sense of “I wonder about…”

In Psalm 77:14, the psalmist reflects, “You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.” There are so many examples of how God had been making His wonders known to us as a school. Our grade 2 students have used a “wonder box”, so that students can express their wonder and ask questions. Many made the connection to the wonders of creation and expressed thanks to God for things like plants and trees with their changes and beauty.

We also explored the inquisitive nature of our students in asking “wonder” questions. We tied this into a beautifully written book called, “On a Beam of Light ” by Jennifer Berne. She retells the story of Albert (Einstein) and how his curiosity and sense of wonder caused him to ask deep questions that lead to some of the greatest scientific discoveries. It also inspired us to wonder, question, imagine, learn, and think a lot.

It was amazing to see the depth of questions that our students asked during our reflective portion of the chapel. We definitely have many sharp and engaged students at Trinity that demonstrate their curiosity and desire to grow in their knowledge. We pray that this will continue to flourish in them both now and in the years to come.

May the God of Wonders inspire and spark your curiosity today, as you admire His creation and all the works His hands have made.

Sincerely,
J-D Lussier, Principal
