Integrity

Oct 1, 2020

Dear Parents,

As our mission indicates, we desire for each child who is part of Trinity Christian School to have their faith nurtured. In order to “Stand Firm”, we recognize that building up a strong foundation is key to providing the necessary stability. We must be rooted in Christ as the base for that foundation.

This is why developing students to have a Christ-like Character is part of our learning culture. One of these characteristics is Integrity. The Oxford Dictionary defines integrity as, “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles”, which we would add, come directly from the Bible, and as “the state of being whole or undivided”. In a world that is so divided, allowing Christ to make us whole is certainly a difference-maker.

I also find the definition from CS Lewis captures it in a beautiful, simplistic way, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.”  While we know that God is always there, it is easy to fall into a trap of acting differently when we are alone or thinking no one will find out what we are doing in secret. The decisions we make there will ultimately reveal themselves when we are in public, either revealing our integrity or lack thereof.

This is echoed in the book, “Becoming a Person of Influence,” by well-renowned author and pastor John Maxwell. He says that Integrity is the most important element in providing a lasting positive influence in others’ lives. Eventually, your foundation will begin to show cracks, if integrity is not there.

We continue to pray for and work to build up the foundation of each one of our students so that they can continue to stand firm long after they have left our school.

Sincerely,
J-D Lussier, Principal
