Peace

Dec 13, 2024

Dear Parents,

As we prepare for our Christmas musical presentation this evening and tomorrow morning, I’m filled with gratitude that we can come together as a community with the purpose of honoring God with our talents and gifts. While there is a “Holiday” performance in most schools, the reality is that the gospel message of Jesus’ birth has become an afterthought or has been altogether dismissed. We do not take for granted that we can keep this the focus of our presentation and that we have the freedom to do so in our country.

While our Advent focus last week was on Hope, our attention turns to peace. At the heart of the message that will be communicated during our performances is that the “Prince of Peace” has taken on human flesh for us and reconciled us to the Father through His sacrifice on the cross. It is through his gift of salvation for us that we can experience true peace or Shalom. As we encounter the storms of life, He is the one who speaks over them and helps us to find shelter and experience His stillness in the midst of it. Once we have found that peace with Him, we can then extend it to the world around us, so that they can discover the Prince of Peace as well.

We echo the words of the angel in Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

The presentation of “The Tale of Three Trees” is also about God’s plans being greater than our own. While God places dreams in our hearts, He knows how to bring them to pass better than we do. He  asks us to trust Him and let Him work in our lives, so He can accomplish these plans in and through us. What a great reminder that when we yield to the Lord, He fills us with His peace and uses us in greater ways than we could imagine or think.

May you be encouraged and filled with His Peace this Christmas season!

Blessings,

J-D Lussier, Principal
