Transformed by Truth

Jan 16, 2020

Dear Parents

One of my favorite verses is Romans 12:2 which says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

While it is certainly nothing new, it seems like in many ways the modern church is conforming more and more to the patterns of the world’s, rather than being agents of renewal in this world. Whether it is by imitating the world in what we sing, read, or write, it is often the easiest thing to go along with the current of the world. Conversely, we are called to think differently, outside of the box, and provide something fresh, good, and wholesome in contrast to the staleness of this world.

In the Living Bible version, it explains it this way: Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Then you will learn from your own experience how his ways will really satisfy you.

At Trinity, we desire for all of our students to be transformed by the truths of God’s word, which are woven into our lessons daily. As they begin to think differently and experience what it is to live in a community where God’s love is at the forefront, our prayer is that this will help them to find fulfillment. From that place, it will empower them to create something beautiful that offers the world something new and life giving. Ultimately, our desire is for each of us to experience God’s transformation, so that we can carry His image and His light into the darkness to bring about change in the world that we live in.

Sincerely,
J-D Lussier, Principal
