What We Are Thankful For

Oct 8, 2020

Dear Parents,

We have made it to the first major milestone of the year: Thanksgiving. Not only does it mean we have successfully completed the first month of school, but it is also an important moment to pause and celebrate God’s goodness to us along with His incredible provision.

While we should be thankful all the time, there’s something special about recognizing God’s providence at this time of the year. We are reminded of how God’s creation fulfills His promise of nurturing us through the harvesting of the crops. Psalm 67:5-6 says, “Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. The earth has yielded its harvest [as evidence of His approval]; God, our God, blesses us.”

This year looks and feels different in the way we will celebrate, but it has certainly highlighted so many things that we should be thankful for. At the top of my list are health, family, and our school community: staff, students, parents, board, and supporters.

At Trinity, we also asked our students to think about what they can be thankful for. In order to provide an additional dimension, we did the exercise of using our 5 senses (smell, taste, sight, hearing, and touch) to show us what we can praise God for. Here is a list of some of the things they came up with:

I praise God for: my mom, dad, brothers, sisters (twins), Meemaw, cousins, Terry Fox, lunch, dolls, cats, rainbows, moon, racecars, gymnastics, and home.

I praise God when I smell: dad’s car, mom’s perfume, dog (pet’s), flowers, food (spaghetti, ham & cheese, bacon, cookies) and bubble gum.

I praise God when I taste: Thanksgiving food, stuffing, kimchi, chicken wings, fruit, pie (apple & pumpkin) and candy.

I praise God when I see: friends, trees, nature, the changing seasons, and all of God’s creation.

I praise God when I hear: worship

I praise God when I feel: soft blankets, bubble wrap, and blessed because all good things come from God.

We hope that these thoughts served as a blessing to you and brought a smile to your face.

We wish all of you a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for each of you that you are a part of the Trinity community!

Sincerely,
J-D Lussier, Principal

Value of Christian Education

Dear Parents, What is the value of a Christian education or more specifically a Trinity Christian School education? While we can assign a price tag, it is hard to add up the value in dollars and cents. It is really about what a student takes away and how they have...
